I am a mega newbie, and I appreciate you laying this out so simply. Down votes feel like I'm doing something MEAN, but I finally downvoted some spam this week. Not that I'm ripping reputations or anything, but I want to do my part to make Steemit great!
I am grateful that you comment and give the user a chance to correct the behavior, some people I've seen truly didn't know what low quality posts/ out right spamy actions are doing to Steemit! It is good to give people a chance to change :) Thanks for the post
