Steemit Netiquette (if any) - Expert advice needed!

in #steemit9 years ago (edited)

Do you have any suggestion for a Steemit netiquette?

  • Should we thank any single user which upvotes our posts?
  • Should we also upvote their comments?
  • What happens if we upvote too much?
  • Should we upvote ourselves all the time, sometimes or never?

Sorry for the questions, I'm just curious to know how you users behave here...

Best regards and keep on posting great stuff!

Very nice think piece on behavior pertaining to this site. I think its best if we just vote for what we think is the best content and what we want to support at first. Offcourse we will form bonds in the future but the initial success comes to us all if the best stuff rises to the top. Stay Positive people Warm Regards paulchristo

Thank you

I'd like to know too.

Yep, you may start telling us how you behave, so maybe the others will follow :)

I did read in more than one place that you should always upvote your own stuff (posts or comments). I also read that the system is designed to be optimized around 20 upvotes per day per person. I guess after that the value of your vote gets diluted.

As far as how I behave? Well, hard to say as I'm just as new as you are :)

Thank you for your information, I saw that upvoting your own post doesn't give you dollars, but maybe can be useful to make the post more visible.
Didn't know about the 20 upvotes optimization but it may be the right number.
About how to behave, I will try to understand better this social media website and I'll let you know ;)

I have tried to thank people who upvote and follow them but nothing comes back in response.

Maybe the community is new and needs a notification area so we can know who is been active on our profiles and engaging and who is not.

Now that's what it needs.

Hello, we already have a notification area in "replies" tab.
From what I can see many users answer to comments and replies, more than on other social networks.
Of course, we can not always expect prompt and sure feedback, but I think this is quite normal.
Cheers!
