RE: IMPORTANT dialog / correspondence from someone frustrated with steemit. DON'T MISS THIS INTERACTION.

I agree with you intelliguy, but I do hear prakashghai's frustrations. I don't agree with everything they said, but I can feel their frustration. As an artist, I used to use peoples applause as fuel for my art. The more applause I got for something I created, the more excited and driven I would be to make the next creation. Getting little to no response on things I worked days/months on made me feel like quitting. Since then, I have changed my perspective and choose to create things because I want to. There will always be the hope that someone out there enjoys my work, but it is no longer a necessity in my creative process.

Another thing I will say - you can do absolutely everything right, exactly the same as others that reached success, and have underwhelming results. It doesn't always matter how good you are at what you do, or even how you advertise yourself - part of success is luck.

Even here on Steemit, luck is what really got me to stick with the site. When I first joined, I posted my introduction post (which was attacked with tons of spam comments making it so it wouldn't open) and no one really saw it. I saw other people's introduction posts getting comments, but mine did not. I think it is important to not compare your success and worth to others.

For one of my first regular posts, I decided to share a bumblebee video that I had made. To my surprise, Ned voted on it, giving the post not just a boost of rewards, but making it noticed in the sea of posts on Steemit. This was my lucky happening that kept me on the site. It is what got me to stay and get to know the community here. I shouldn't have needed this to stay, but at the time I did. I don't make "bank" on my posts today, but I am so glad I stayed. Besides rewards there are other things valuable on this site - friendship, the ability to learn something new, and the ability to share something with others that add some sort of value to their lives.

I do believe, if you stick with it and keep creating quality content that adds value, eventually you will get noticed - it just takes longer for some than others.

Agreed. Less time complaining, and more time creating and promoting.
