Upvoted! It actually kinda bothers me that you earn so little on YouTube, would expect it to be more.
I haven't earned anything on YouTube (yet), so for me Steemit is definately more valuable.
I haven't earned anything through social media the last 6 months (wasn't very active before that) :(

There are so many people that give advice on YouTube channels. One of the main pieces of advice for people looking to earn money on YouTube is to not rely on YouTube! LOL Those that make big money have a business model wrapped around their content that makes them money. These models include things like:
I've tried some of that but have not been able to keep up with any of it.
Here's my strategy for now. Keep up with YouTube and let it be what it is. Build a community here on Steemit to enjoy sharing myself and content for a different set of rewards :)
