I wanted to see the real earnings you could get from a Steemit Post. I couldn't find any usable app or solution.
I created a mobile app that helps estimate your post payouts. Calculates how much reward you will receive for your posts in the currency of your country or any currency you wish to choose!!

Cool, but is it safe?
Absolutely!
The simple fact, is that it doesn't ask for password, keys or anything like that.
It only uses the publicly available information from coinmarketcap and steemit website's api to provide you with the results.

To answer your comment yes i am aware of the issue and working on it, there is some network error with steemit or something like that. Many other apps don't work including the iPhone eSteem app seems to be stuck for me.

It's a quick mock up app to solve a tedious but simple task :)
This is pretty cool. We can use more mobile applications that handle these types of needs.
If you are going to build out this financial app more, I would suggest to think about a way to track the value of the currency when the user received it up to the current date. Might help some users with their tax information in the future.

what was your formula for doing calculations? For example, if payout showing on steemit is 5.29, how does the app end up with 1.96 SBD payout? thanks
Well the amount is not 100% accurate. The ammount may vary on many factors, and you'll know for sure only when you receive the reward.
SteemIt values SBD at $1 and Steem at a 3 day average of the feed prices. Therefore, if SBD price is $5-10+ then the actual payout in USD will be far higher than what SteemIt shows.
A post pays out 75% rewards to author, 25% to curators. Of that 75%, posts often pay out 50% SBD and 50% SP.
With some number, lets say a post has a value of $100 on SteemIt.
The author will receive $75 and the curators $25.
Of that $75, half will be SBD and half will be STEEM. Currently SBD is $9.85 and STEEM price is $6.30 (but since the price very recently bumped, the average on Steem is closer to $3-4)
$75 / 2
$37.50 in SBD ~$369.38
$37.50 in STEEM ~10.7 STEEM ~$67.41
Post total value with current market rates, $436.79
This, for a "$100" post on SteemIt. Numbers may vary when calculations are done at different times.

What is the benefit of knowing the future payout amount, when it's quite easy to get close enough just doing the simple math in your head?
I bet your head can calculate the exchange rates of SBD and USD? Or any other currency. :)

The exchange rate changes daily - even hourly.
That's what the app does, it gets all your posts sums the potential author payouts and converts them into your selected currency with one click.
You'd also have to constantly be scrolling through every comment and blog for new upvotes. It's not a lot but I'm expecting about 1.52 in author rewards from mostly comments. Dozens of them. That's annoying to manually add, refresh, add, etc. And doesn't factor in market variables.

I have a couple of questions. What does the exchange number mean? It says I have approx 1.52 potential payout which says 5.7usd-.570 sbd then says exchange 10.087. I don't understand that. If my author potential payout is 1.52, why would my USD not be 15.332? (10.087X1.52)
I see it's also not figuring in the author comments posts, just the blog posts?

Another thing to understand is that the prices displayed under each post are not USD dollars they are Steem Dollars which is the site's own currency. This is the potential value of the post or comment. The earnings are currently way more than that due to the high exchange rates. One post that worth $10 steem dollars may actually pay out 10 times of its value because of the exchange rate.
The final dollar value could be easily calculated by the following formula:
(SBDx0.75x0.5)xUSD Exchange Rates of 1 SBD
Which is with $10 SBD and the current $10 exchange rate
(10x0.75x0.5)x10 => 37.5 USD
