The way the reward distribution system is designed incentivizes people to cheat.
I don't condone it. Neither do I participate in it, but it's the system that's faulty.
If you put $180K USD in front of your company and tell your customers to share it among themselves according to the value they provide to your company, a good deal of it is going to be robbed.
That's what Steemit is doing right now. Please don't expect any fair reward distribution from this platform, because it's not designed for that.
In other words - "Don't hate the playa, hate the game"?
Seriously dude? No, I'm calling people out on being shitty when they do shitty things.
Yes, I'm serious.
It's human nature that a certain percentage of any community is fraudsters. If you design a system that is susceptible to fraud, there will be fraud. There's no way around it. You can hate those people all they long.
You are like a guy who withdraws his savings from the bank and puts it in front of his home. When you see your cash gone the next morning, you're ranting about how bad people are.
That's what Steemit is. Putting a pile of cash in front of your door and hoping people will share it fairly. That's not going to happen. You can swear all they long. You're only wasting your time. There are better ways of incentivizing people to create quality content on Steemit.
Steemit lost almost 60% in market capitalization since its highest point in January 2018.
Wake up to the reality. This Steemit game is not sustainable on the long run as it is.
What the hell are you talking about? No, that's not at all what this is like.
What this is like is people who don't want to fucking work for their earnings. They post some bullshit like, "Hello, this is a post. And here's is the 5th-to-last picture on my cell phone." BOOM, $700.
You realize they're taking that money away from you too, right?
Your standpoint is "it's gonna happen anyway, so might as well bend over and take it."
You can go ahead and bend over if you want.
Not me.
Are they taking away money from me? Money which i didnt have in the first place? How is that a crime? Its like im finding 1000 bucks on the street and hear you yell at me from a distance " i can pick that up more gracefully! You stole it from me!!"
Nothing is ever going to be fair..except in north korea. Everyone is entiteled to the same shit standards of living. Adapt or find something else. Go find a better more fair platform? Facebook perhaps? :)
If you read my posts, you'll see that I mention the Steem Power investors as the biggest victim of the abuse. Standing up for the investor rights disqualifies me as a socialist.
Thank you for the tip. I have already adapted. I didn't invest in Steem Power. I don't think it's an investable asset in its current form, unless you want to get involved in abuse of course, which isn't something I'm willing to do.
If you have a tip, let me know. I'm fine with BTC, but I don't mind diversifying a little.
Thank you for the suggestion. I had a good run with Facebook and I already sold my stocks. I'm not interested in investing in them anymore.
In either case, I expect the Facebook stock to perform better than Steem or Steem Power in the next 10 years, if Steemit keeps the current reward structure that is. That's not an investment advice for anyone.
