While it definitly makes sense to sort the comments by votes, so that the important/interesting ones are on top,
it does'nt at all for a discussion or brainstorming or however we want to call this thread:

I believe for @dan / @ned or the guys who have to look for all the questions/topics it makes a thread unreadable.
If you leave the site and come back later u have no chance to see what is new and what old.
Maybe it would be cool to have the option to sort it by timestamp.
Don't you know, the more SP you have the more you deserve to be at the top?!?!

Sure, but the thread has to be readable or else it becomes a scrambled up munbo jumbo.
Great suggestion. A lot of small tweaks could make Steemit the best community around.
