Let's start with Steemit growth engine. We have facebook, twitter, youtube, and loads of other social media platforms where people can express themselves. Steemit growth is fueled by financial incentive - people are rewarded financially for submitting content that is liked by other Steemit users. It is very attractive proposition for anyone - to receive money for content they already have or are willing to produce. Financial rewards are extremely high and disproportionate to the actual value of the article. Therefore, many people sign up.
Now where I see the problem - current voting system encourages people to write topics that are liked by "whales" because it increases probability to be liked and receive financial reward. let's look at steemit statistics - most popular and highest rewards go to "steemit" and "introduceyourself" topics. I understand the reason to vote on "steemit" topics that help users understand the platform. However, many introduceyourself articles are by pretty girls with pictures when they are in a beach or just traveling etc. I'ts not that I mind these posts, but I would like to encourage "whales" to vote on other topics like photography, art, philosophy and many other..
so please people with high numbers in your account take a look into other topics as well!
thanks!
I agree at some point because this kinds of blogs are the ones that give value to the community.
I agree they need to look into other topics, I disagree with just those 3. They need to broaden their horizons in all ways not just the 3 you prefer.
thanks for comment. i meant not only three topics mentioned, but in general
I agree 💯% I'd like to get more of my artist friends on here.
As a new blogger, I do support you with all my heart :)
I'm guessing its a bit of a lottery . If you fancy a bit of art/philosophy heres my post for the day though:

i just want Steemit to develop into a place where all sorts of things are liked, not just the ones that like "whales". but this maybe the problem that richest accounts have the greatest influence. it seems it might stay this way. thanks for your post! will check it out now :)
