STEEM can become the #1 Cryptocurrency

in #steemit7 years ago

STEEM is the first altcoin that has this potential, as it can bring people to Cryptocurrency that have never used it before. There has never before been a currency that had this kind of potential, as STEEM is the first coin that will pay you for posting pictures of yourself or food, or writing about your day, or sharing videos. But it cannot do it alone. STEEM's value is based on community involvement.

Here is how you can help STEEM become the #1 Cryptocurrency:

  1. Establish Value- If every person holding STEEM right now made a conscious decision that their STEEM was worth $5 or $10, and refused to sell it for any less, all of the STEEM being sold for $2 and $3 would be bought up within a week or so, and STEEM would be worth at least $5. Then as the STEEM community grows, and the value seems like it should be higher, raise your expectations and refuse to sell for less than what you believe it is worth.
  1. Contact Exchanges- Currently STEEM is traded on Bittrex, and they are doing a great job. And all it takes for STEEM to show up on other exchanges is for enough people to ask each exchange. Think of it like a petition, you just petition the site that you want to host the coin, and when they see that STEEM offers them a large demographic that is not currently on their site, they will want to add it so that those people come use their site.
  1. Create Content- The more content there is on steemit, the more steemit will show up in search results, bringing people to STEEM that otherwise would not have been reached. This also earns you STEEM which allows you to create not just content, but to bring value to STEEM. You could start a STEEM shop, or a STEEM app, or help local businesses in your area accept STEEM as payment for everyday items. And all of this can be shared on steemit, creating an endless cycle of value gain.
  1. Curate- Steemit needs people to curate. The more upvotes posts have, the more incentive there is for people to join. Steemit has only been around for a few months and the highest voted posts are around or just above $1000. That is just the beginning though. Once there are posts with $10,000+, it will incentivize more and more people to join steemit. And the more people who see their posts are earning STEEM, the more they will be incentivized to post once they are already members of the site. Many people may thinks that when you upvote you have to give that person some of your STEEM, but you do not. It is free to upvote a post, and the value of your upvote is determined by your STEEM Power.
  1. Share the Steemit URL- Every time someone posts about steemit on Social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter or Reddit, more and more people are learning about STEEM. And by sharing your steemit content, you can earn more STEEM from friends who upvote your posts. If every STEEM user with an account steemit right now were to post about steemit on Facebook, Twitter and Reddit, the user base would most likely double within a month. You can also go to Twitter and search for hashtags like #Reddit or #Bitcoin or #Tech and share the link to steemit.
  1. Share News Articles- STEEM has now been mentioned by various News Outlets. I saw that it has been mentioned by Reuters, The Guardian, Finance Magnates, CNBC, Payment Week, The Sydney Morning Herold, Globo & EconoTimes. If everyone on steemit right now were to grab a link to one of those articles, and post it on their Facebook, Twitter, Reddit, etc it would inspire other Media to start talking about it too. It is an amazing story, and they will want to share it.
  1. Make a STEEM Site- Steemit is not the sole host of this content. The entire idea is based on a Blockchain and steemit.com simply makes the Blockchain a simple to understand and simple to use GUI. You can use the same data to create a website that shows certain posts, or that displays charts, or that displays various other pieces of the Blockchain.

This is all it takes for STEEM to become more well known than Bitcoin, and no other coin has had this potential before. Not everyone can afford to mine, but pretty much everyone can use a keyboard.
