The price is based on a 7 day trading average. So the market determs the price.
I thought it was set up for the transactions to keep things moving @konelectric. We wouldn't have to depend on the market, we set our own. arg.

I hear ya! The upvote criteria is unclear on some of these. I love Dsound but don't understand exactly how they choose to upvote certain songs.

I only have a couple acoustic songs, but haven't uploaded yet, but I like that artists can make a little coin on the platform:) Do you upload your talk show as a podcast on Dsound?

More urgent sellers than buyer; more supply than the demand can meet.
As for why there's greater selling urgency, my best guess is that lots of folks got scared or disheartened and sold for what they can get. It's not because of Steemit itself, but because the crypto market's been crappy.
I see, that makes sense. And yes, its not been exciting at all.
