More important than the public face of the team building the network is this community site itself. I am going to be putting time into writing articles outside the network explaining it, and encouraging people to jump in and try. As well, I'm trying to use the #steemit-feature tag as something we can all rally around.
I think it's great that you are passionate about this. You should just get started -- and write up some about pages, mockup some design changes and so on, and see who else is interested.
