Allowing unlimited tags in posts has lead to irrelevant content cluttering up the site. Posts are spammed across tons of tags which makes it much harder to find relevant content in each of them (especially when browsing by "created"). Just look at the #introduceyourself tag as an example: https://steemit.com/created/introduceyourself ... ironically, this post will now appear there because I used the tag in the post.
My proposal is to limit posts to one category (still allow users to create a new one if it doesn't already exist) and do away with tags completely. This was the original method which I believe would work even better now because of the huge volume of new content being added.
This would also make it much easier to flag a post for being irrelevant because it would only appear in one place, whereas now some of the tags on a post could indeed be relevant which makes it tough to downvote otherwise good posts simply because of the tags.

While I agree a limit should be made on the number of tags, I think limiting to just one tag wouldn't be fair to content that could be valuable in four or five feeds. But as flagging spam in the future hopefully earns people a little extra money, posting too many tags and having your content flagged by multiple people should warrant some kind of penalty. I always enjoy seeing your 2 steems. Always makes me think as well.

Great minds think alike and brainstorming ways to add value to the platform are 100% welcome. As the developers see some great ideas getting traction and generating money for them, hopefully they will see the benefit of implementing solutions proposed by all of us. It's already fascinating to see to see people create their own programs to show additional features like on steems.com and steem stats.com the people who tend to follow cryptocurrencyand blockchain technology tend to be very creative problem solving people. I love it
