@broncnutz - Awesome video, but one thing I just learned today. From an optimal monetizing standpoint, one should always take 50/50 SP/SBD payouts as long as SBD > $1.

Yes sir! We're staying in a cabin right in Breckenridge. Meeting up at boys dispensary in Denver first and chilling for the whole time after that lol....Funny I live in the warmth but vacation in the cold, and you live in the cold but vacation in the warmth during winter. I went to Cozumel and Cancun last year and it was a good time. More expensive then you would think for being in Mexico.

I love your video but it's wrong! I hope that you will see this post...
The reward is split different than you think it is. I'll take for an example one of my posts.
The reward was split like this:
Past Payouts $14.38
And for this same post my actual 50/50 reward was:
Steem power is actually calculated depending on the current market value of steem. And the rest of the reward is calculated as 1 SBD = 1$ !
If we simplify and say it's 1 SBD = 1 STEEM. That would still get me 6.5 STEEM while using 50/50 ratio and only 1.5 STEEM if i would power up 100%
So if you want to have benefit from 100% power up, than SBD should be worth 1/STEEM value in $. In this scenario it should be 1 STEEM = 6 SBD.
I really hope that this message reaches you and maybe you can post another video about it!

I was trying to get to the bottom of this couple of days before, because i didn't understood how it works. That's why I thought it would be a good to share the logic in this post. @poss I understand why many people think that the potential payout shown by a post or even the past payout amount for an author is in USD - Because there is a damn $ in front of that ($) 11.53 that you saw. When SBD was practically pegged to $1 USD it made sense for users and when users upvoted a com$.ment they had a pretty accurate idea what it was actually worth. An upvote of $.25 was worth a quarter. However now when for arguments sake SBD is worth $8 - that $.25 upvote is actually a $2 upvote. The 11.53 or the .25 is actually an amount of SBD. That is why when you ($)11.53 payout at 50/50 rewarded you 5.765 SBD - which is precisely 50% of the 11.53. I'm guessing that STEEM was trading below SBD at the time of your payout if it was recent, and the .836 SP makes absolutely no sense at all as a payout in monetary sense. $40 worth of SBD roughly and only $4 of STEEM ?? There is a major issue with the Steemit pending/actual payouts on the platform and I've seen a lot of requests on Utopia.io to correct the issue - Even the account balance shown in our wallets is still based on a 7 day and 3 day average trading price of STEEM and SBD - why isn't it just an actual wallet price based on real time prices or prices for the previous day? When logging into Busy.org it shows your wallet to the T of the actual value.
Om Utopia.io I read a few people mentioning that the pending or past payout amount wasn't estimated in SBD either and rather STU (Steem Token Units) whatever the hell those are - LOL
Last thing - another oddity is that the pending payouts of mine last week had been going up from day to day (even without any additional upvotes) yet the price of STEEM was rising and the price of SBD slowly retracting.
I don't know what is exactly the case but I think there is a glitch in the Steemit Matrix with Payouts, SP payout skimming and the price of SBD - @broncnutz was right when he said a lot of big payout reapers were converting their SBD into STEEM as soon as the reward was redeemed and making a killing by getting 4-5x the amount of STEEM - I just pray it wasn't a malicious act of driving the SBD price up by manipulating the exchanges so the massive Whales could pack on more winter fat.
Hope the comment makes sense - please respond if you have figured out anything further with the payout methods and or what exactly caused SBD to skyrocket just in time for Christmas when like OG said - it has no real purpose as a coin and does not run the blockchain
OK so check this - the STEEM value from your post or SP is actually the 5.765 of STEEM but it'd dividing itself by the actual price of steem. Which is why you got the .894 or whatever it was. See if you can check what the price of STEEM was at the time of payout and divide 5.765/STEEM price at payout and I bet ya it is exactly .894 or very very close to it depending on which trading value they use - an exchange or the Steemit market price
@poss I have been a member since June of 2017 , I have not had the time to get in here an blog/post and really try and make a difference with content that I produce . That is why I joined Steemit . It's why I am still here , but I have started to notice a common trend between all the #whales , they seem to keep a minuscule , if anything at all in Steem . Yet they have 4,768.890 in SBD or 112,789.436 in SBD and 0.128 in Steem. So by doing this , they can manipulate the payouts and author rewards of there own posts not to mention the curation rewards for having such a high upvote when all your assets are In SBD . If I am way off here and look stupid , forgive my ignorance . I am not trying to accuse , defame , or discredit anyone's hard work and countless hours spent earning every cent that their account has accumulated , but at the same time I love this community because of the honesty and integrity of its members and if I am doing something wrong I would appreciate some redirection .
I hope I didn't offend anyone , I love this community and have never experienced a more legitimate an beneficial way to socialize and obtain valid info . This Platform cannot compare to the trash on the F books & Twits out there polluting the sheeple that haven't yet found that there are real people that don't have an agenda to ram down your throat === that Place Is STEEMIT Steeeeem on .

You can earn Steem by posting, commenting, and upvoting others.....or you can buy some at most exchanges. You will see any SBD in your wallet on the site. If you want to convert to Steem, have t the drop down arrow under your SBD wallet and select market. At the market you can swap or sell.

Hi @broncnutz great video and I agree with you for sure... my question for you is I currently have a lot of SBD I use for voting bots which helps me earn both steem power and my SBD back -- would it be better to convert my SBD to STEEM and then use the STEEM on the bots? Great post!

Well that a decent use for SBD but your job st gonna have to do the math and see which play is better for you.
My strategy is to post on Steemit daily, use the SBDs to show a profitable ROI when using the voting bots, and help this community in every way possible! Everyday I am earning more SBD and then Steem power by doing the 5050 payouts -- thus I don't want to necessarily power everything up into steem power yet. Either way I think its a win win and I have converted a lot of my SBD into steem now while steem is still at a decent price. Thank you again for sharing this, and I look forward to many more of your posts. Also, big thank you for your support of my posts and upvotes!

I lost all my SBD promoting my posts - about 500, sadly they never accomplished anything . Not once did they bring in a single cent. What a stupid concept.
The promotion feature is not a good play.
Sadly I found that out. Only if I had all the SBD I wasted over the summer on promoting, my account would probably be worth 5K.

I heard of this platform several months ago and am really regretting now not having contributing until today. I really look forward to contributing to this community. At this point, I am still quite puzzled about the difference between these Steem Power, Steem and SBD.
For example, I don't understand why for some posts, one contributor would get a lot of SBD (like in the 10-20 range) with just a few votes; while in some posts others usually only get $0.02 with a few votes.
It all depends on how much steem power the voter holds. Like for instance my vote here to you is nice because i have a lot of steem power

That number will never change it was given to you by steemit for signing up so that you would have some voting power to pull from the pool. Some people have a higher number because they were here before you. The steem delegate it to you so you get the voting power but you don't actually get the physical tokens. If you would like to have Steem delegated to you and are willing to pay interest you can do that at minnowbooster.net

I think there is an interest in all types of content. As a matter fact on my blog here about 60 percent of it is about the Denver Broncos. Most people around the world don't even know who the Denver Broncos are. Make your blog about whatever you want just make it good to content and make it about you.

Great tutorial. I have been converting my SBD to Steem as soon as I receive it. Seems its the best way for me to get a good average rate because I'm not good at playing the markets. So far it has paid off. I hope SBD can stay higher than Steem for a while longer because I love stacking the bonus Steem!

SBD peg to $1, this is what I heard, so we got a bonus and we enjoyed it by current price up! Anyway when it drops, it will little hurt, but with a clear mind I know it will happen anytime, so I was collect SBD, covert them to STEEM or other and prepare for the future!
Anyway I have faith on SMT, sometimes we will get another bonus again....

I was desperately waiting for your insight on this, when I joined steemit, the SBD/STEEM ratio was 4:1.
I am only 34days old but your content motivated me to keep pushing and interact more with the community, recently I earned a big payout for one my post(169USD), it was unbelivable, I was skeptical about powering up, I was hoping the ratio would get to atleast 3:1, but I'm taking your advice and powering up.
I think im going to power up myself.....i might give it another day or two to see what SBD do but I think its the right play for now.

Great advice OG NUTZ! In the last couple days I've actually sold about 400+ in SBD into Bitcoin.. then turned into dollars into paypal, and I about to buy kilos of Real Hard Physical Silver! Not that I don't believe in steem, bitcoin or blockchain. Simply cause I'm underweight in metals diversification and believe it's a good allocation for my portfolio. Any thoughts my friend? I wish I had kept paying attention to Steemit. I took a break from Steemit but the price attracted me back to the platform. (Wrong reason I know..but I'm back regardless).

STEEM is very nice. I wish I had put in money as well. But please do not forget about XEM, the native coin on the NEM Smart Asset Blockchain. Steem will keep shooting up in value until it is on par with SBD's then it is decision time on what it is going to do. So far I feel a lot of the rise in the price of steem has been from converting SBD to steem since the ratios were so good and SBD's shot up in price.
THere will always be pressure on the SBD's to go back to the dollar peg since that is what it is suppose to be at.
