Hi. Bucho here.
Writer. Pervert. Drinker. DJ (house, techno, trip hop, hip hop, funk, soul, 80s/retro, etc.)
Currently living back in Kansas City after 6 years in San Francisco. Big fan of not paying so much in rent anymore. I do miss the very serious literary scene there, however.
I just released my debut short story collection called "Scaring the Stars into Submission" (link in my bio). It's a surrealist take on the post apocalyptic themes, but set about a year or three from now-ish. A little sci-fi, a little magical realism, and a whole lot of weird. I like my fiction experimental, so if you do too, then you'll probably enjoy it. Many of the stories have already been published in various magazines and literary journals across the country, so someone liked them.
I've published some 30+ stories since 2012. I'm releasing my second collection of stories titled "The Machinery of the Heart: Love Stories" near the end of the year. I'm nearly halfway finished with my third collection tentatively titled "Trying to Prepare for a Life I'll Never Have." I'm a surrealist, a fabulist, an experimentalist, a lover of blending up language and spitting it out in different nuances. I like books that are more like puzzles than straight ahead fiction. I like literature that tickles my brain for weeks after.
I have a novella that's nearly done and untitled along with two novels; "Rise" is my take on the classic magical realism genre, but with a much darker tint to it, while "Impasto" was my Master's thesis and anthropomorphizes paintings and turns them into the characters of the book. I like the concept; the finished whole needs a significant amount of work.
I've been a DJ for about 17 years. I have 60+ mixes up on my Mixcloud page available for streaming. All styles, all tempos, and I'd be surprised if you couldn't find a perfect mix for pretty much any moment. At some point, I'll create multiple posts for the different genres so they're easier to find for all the Steemit users who might be interested. -
/I also own several pink robes, which I enjoy wearing around the house, around town, and while DJ-ing.
You stole my heart right here! LOL! welcome!
hahahahahahaha...glad i could help! :)

"Big fan of not paying so much in rent anymore"
We all are :)
it's astounding what passes for "normal" or "average" rent in cities like that, especially when the average wage for people doesn't come anywhere close to being appropriate. just astounding...
I hate that even if you are paid OK, after all the expenses you are left counting pennies.
TRULY. my last couple years there were damn near miserable. had i not had the crew of friends i had, it would've been a very terrible time in my life. probably the worst.
now you KNOW that should all be in pink! :P
Like your robe.
I just saw a movie you might enjoy.
Stranger than Fiction, with Will Ferrell, Emma Thompson and Maggie Gyllenhaal.
i normally hate will ferrell (i find him real unfunny), but "stranger than fiction" is one of my all time favorite movies and he's a large reason as to why, ironically. fantastic movie!
I agree entirely. Not a fan of his comedy work, but I'll watch anything with Maggie in it.
Pervert, you say?
yes'm :P
