Introduction
Commenting is part of any social networks that you are active on. It is the same for the Steemit ecosystem, where people provide great articles.
When you write a masterpiece, you love it when people leave some nice comments. It is frustrating when nobody sees your article!
My constatation
I love leaving comments to the articles I found interesting. The ascertainment I made, many bloggers respond to the comments without giving an upvote.
You need to be aware, even if an upvote does not pay, it helps to increase your reputation! People tend to be greedy sometimes and this is something I don't like.
What I am doing
When someone leaves me a good comment, in respect, I try to give him an upvote, in return he grows on the platform.
We are human beings and we are here to grow. We spend a good amount of time on Steemit, it is important to feel we progress and our efforts are reflected.
Spread upvotes
Upvote and support the people who leave comments. We are in a world of energy, everything will come back to you if you play fair!
Also, receiving an upvote is like reaching the nirvana. The more you have, the more you want!

Great article. I hardly ever comment without upvoting, exactly for the same reasons you mentioned, even if my vote basically equals to zero. Besidse providing some feedback, even a 0,001 increase in reputation is better than zero, and unless someone makes a comment just to try and get upvotes, if we comment, we liked the content; and if we did... rewarding who wrote it is just fair.
We cannot advance here without those upvotes, that is why it's important to build engagement.

Great to hear your words and i remember that day, when you said, you write good comments but without any upvote, at that time my understanding was different but your response really pinched me in an good way and from that day i am trying to give upvote to every genuine author and commenter and it's important because, sometimes our vision grows when we get feedback and we have to take every feedback in an good way because every feedback holds some experience.
