Yesterday was my first visit and posting to the Steemit community. After looking and investigating further, I decided what the heck. I already was mulling the idea of starting a blog to express my opinions and ideas but really was having a difficulty getting started. I posted my first two posts yesterday and saw great feedback. It was encouraging and has really got me thinking about the possibilities in this community. What I believe we are seeing is the absolute decentralization of the "media" and true meritocracy and frankly it is empowering as hell.
The idea that anyone with a computer and something to say can "publish" their content and see real time feedback and be fairly compensated for it could simply revolutionize the internet. It is so easy to just take for granted all the amazing potential and possibilities the individual has in this age. It is my true opinion that at no time in history has the individual had more access and ability to truly control their destiny. It is humbling to think what a wonderful time in history we live in and how we have all struck the prosperity jackpot to have been born in such a time. To think of the struggles and difficulties individuals had 300, 200 or even 100 years ago to have their voices heard and opinions expressed and now any of us can express those opinions and have hundreds if not thousands of people not only read them but then comment and exchange ideas in nearly real time. I am hopeful that the community continues to grow and can not wait to see how this all shakes out.
