RE: The Quality of Steemit Posts is Going Downhill & Why It's Bad for Steemit Growth & Adoption

in #steemit8 years ago

I agree - the low content bloggers are a problem for steem. But look at platforms like youtube, if channels have a bad content they won't get many followers and views and it does seem like Google found a way to get that low content problem solved. Maybe the priority algorithm of posts in your news feed will be changed with the next major update. The steemit team should look at the solutions of the other major social media platforms and how they filter low content out of the stream.

You actually bring up a great point about low quality content being ignored and in many ways I agree with that. The one issue I would still bring up is Steemit doesn't have a great algorithm for presenting relevant and liked content and Steemit's search function is pretty poor as well so the low quality content creates a lot of clutter to have to sort throguh to find the better content. If Steemit had a better algorithm, if Steemit had groups, if Steemit had better search functionality or if the Hot and Trending pags weren't filled with so much trash low quality content would be less of a problem.
