I was thinking about how I could creatively use my extra Voting Power delegated from @krnel and decided to call attention to a topic that not many people realize. Dust!
Dust!
Dust is what happens to any post or comment that doesn't meet the minimum of $0.019 upvote. It vanishes... poof!!! No payout, no curation, nothing. Simply gone!
To Be Safe, A $0.03 upvote is needed
I won't get into the technical aspects, I am just bringing this issue to your attention. So to make the point and increase awareness I will upvote any post or comment that you drop a link on in this post if it is at $0.01 or $0.02 (the only caveat is that you are a 60 or lower Reputation).
So if you are a 59 and lower Reputation, and if you have 6 day old or less posts or comments with $0.01 and $0.02, then tell me about it and I will bust that dust and make it payable!
How To Send A Link To Your Comments
Sending a link to your comments is easy. First go to your comments section (see pic below)
Then find your comments that have $0.01 or $0.02 and then right click on the time (see pic below)
Then come back to this post and paste the link in and I will go upvote it and make it at least $0.03
That's It, No Upvoting, Following, Resteeming, Or Even Talking Required!
I want to help people get paid on something that has already received votes, but might fall into the "dust category". So, I am happy to use my Voting Power for today and tomorrow to make sure you get paid! There are no limits, it will be first come/first serve until I have no more Voting Power (or until Monday arrives).
I love projects like these and hope we can do more as time goes. Right now our membership club just helps our members, but one day maybe we can do so much more like initiatives like this!

Such a creative idea to help! We need a ‘dust bot’ that upvotes to 3 cents if a post hasn’t been downvoted after let’s say 6 days! I’d follow that trail :D Keep up the good work!

I was just explaining to Brian the whole "dust" concept and together we were sharing out admiration of you and your selflessness here! I'm not sure if I told you, but we moved apartments yesterday and today I am wiped. I was going to skip steemit, but got thinking of my delegation from @krnel and what everyone has done for Brian and I, and decided to get off my butt and get to work. I'm judging @thedarkhorse's Pay It Forward Curation Contest for the third week in a row and will go spend my extra delegation over there :)

Thanks @davemccoy. I wrote a post about this too and have been replying to commenters who have left small upvotes on my comments, alerting them to the fact.
It's a bit tricky because I don't want them to think I'm asking for more but, so far, people seem to be taking the message in the way it's meant. 😁
A couple of people have told me they use their vote as a sort of marker for replies they've read. Only one person didn't mind and would continue voting as usual.
I told everyone the threshold was 0.02 but then amended my post to 0.03 after reading @thedarkhorse's post.
It's great that you can get the word out as you have a much bigger reach than I do. 😍
I agree that it is best for everyone to understand this. I always suspected it, but never knew until a week or so ago... Now I think we should all be aware, and as long as people know the facts they can adjust their habits to what works best for them. you don't quite understand what dust is @obest... It is when you get an upvote that says $0.01 or $0.02 and you might not get paid on it. I am upvoting those so you can get paid. I did upvote 2 of your $0.00 votes just to be nice, but they normally wouldn't qualify. Also 2 of your comments were at $0.10 and $0.07 so they will easily get paid.
So long story short, none of these 4 would qualify as dust, but I upvoted 2 of them so that you were rewarded for trying!

STOPWhat a nice iniative. To be honest I only read this happens 2 days ago. I still wonder what hPpens with the payouts that do not hPpen. All together it must be a high amount. Untill now I haven't been that busy with checking out my payments. I do not know really how to understand the financial part of Steemit. So I will have a look at it know (first step)
Hey @wakeupkitty.. first thank you for the nice words... And the payouts that are below 1.9 cents turn into dust (they don't get paid anything)... So the only way to be sure is to have a .03 vote on your post so that you know you get paid. Does that make sense?

I am very gratefull if you can tell me how I know what the value of my vote is. I understand now it's useless to vote if it's worth nothing. Mostly I see it was zero. So how can I figure out about it and how/when will that change?
the way the vote values work is they round it... so if it shows 0.00 then that means it is 0.004999 or lower... once it hits 0.005 then it will show up as 0.01 because the system rounds... To find out exactly how you vote is calculated, you can go here and type in 1000 x your SP... and then divide it by 1000 to get the decimals.

so if you have 30 sp, then put in 30,000 and see the value (30,000 would give you $7.96) so if you divided that by 1000 you would get 0.00796 ... and that would be your vote value!

As for the resteem services, my suggestion would be to hold off on paying for resteem services. At least until you grow your account some more. I've never tried them myself.

Well i can't find words to thank you enough @beeyou . Yesterday i surpassed my first steem and by the end of the week i will get my second steem. Oncey vote power can reach at least 0.01$ value, i can contribute to the group too. I used resteem because i saw most of them made a profit (+1$) but that wasn't the case for me. Perhaps bots will do a better job in the future in that prospect. I was suggested to join discord , of which i know nothing about. I will try that

I gotcha on that one, but don't pay ever to get a resteem... I have never seen a service deliver... On resteemable, it is just a "donation" so you can donate if you want, but they will still resteem any post you send them... So while you are a minnow, just use the service and wait til you are bigger to tip them.

How about bots, i saw the list of safe bots
and have bookmarked a few.
On the resteem, it is just a donation... So if they didn't do it, it could've been for several reasons... one they weren't there, two they didn't like the post, and probably most common, three the system hit a glitch and needed to be reset.
As far as bots, there are 2 kinds... 1) fixed bots and 2) bid bots
I suggest you use the first kind until you really understand how the prices relate to the vote values... The one that I use the most is Minnow Booster... but you can also use @bumper and @flagship...
If you want to talk about bidbots, you need to message me on discord as that is the easiest way because they are more complicated. My discord name is davemccoy#2479

I can't use so much sbd. There are some bots

I think two days back is enough. I try to vote those dust votes also when I find them on pages I visit. Nothing like someone trying to reward a comment and then learning it was dusted away.

Thanks for the upvote lift. Not easy to earn a few pennies when they keep getting dusted up. I could be careful and only vote on accounts that have valuable vote power, but then that would completely leave the redfish in the dust forever. I have a few that give me rewards that count for real rewards, so I grow slowly, that is okay. I can not see not voting for something just because I would get nothing in return form them. Redfish are like everyone else, they want to reward people/content that they like, by my and yours and other peoples help they get to give that reward, and they also get a small curation in return.
I think you should always do what you do @bashadow... You have earned the respect of so many people I wouldn't ever want to change a thing you do! :)
