RE: announcing the creation of "The DOLPHIN COUNCIL"

in #steemit6 years ago

It cheers me a lot to see this @underground... and an initiative like this is definitely important. And I say that as a minnow who became a dolphin who became a minnow again (had to power down from 7000+ SP due to some emergency expenses last year... grrr!) and now clawing my way back...

The cool think about most "dolphins" is that they got where they are through busting their butts in the community, not by being early "miners." Puts them more in touch with the reality of Steemit as a content platform.

Part of what makes these things challenging... and what makes it hard to get much traction... is that there are lots of good people working on initiatives like this, but they are not working together or they are working with little niches of their own.

I'm glad to see you have @jaynie as she is one of the hardest workers out there! And I'm glad to see @whatsup on the list.

But don't overlook influencers like @tarazkp who's been shouting from the rooftops for a long time about the importance of building a bigger Steemit "middle class."

Then there are the various curation and engagement leagues created by the two halves of the @steemcommunity witness, @abh12345 and @paulag. Again, there's another fairly dedicated group of 100's of people working to build their Steemit presences.

I also really like the initiatives by the @danielsaori witness; Daniel works with @davemccoy and they have numerous newbie support systems.

So there are lots of people "doing good," but the efforts are very fragmented.

Anyway, glad to come across this!
