Steemit Reaches All Time Highs, Races Through $6

Steem on a High!

I've been a Steemit member now for a little over 6 months, but I've never seen anything quite like this. The price has beaten the all time high, and now confidently trading around the $6 mark. Even Steem Dollars, previously always worth around 1 USD, are around $10 a piece!

What it Means for the Ecosystem

I joined Steemit back in June 2017. There had been a previous spike in the price that attracted a lot of new people to cryptocurrency, and in particular Steemit shone out as a potential 'reddit killer' for many people like myself.

I stuck around, and tried my hand at creating tools for Steemit, such as the https://steemforthe.win tool. It is so easy for someone with a basic understanding of web technologies to get interacting with the steemit blockchain and excellent 3rd party tools developed by members of the community.

The Impact

I think with this boost, we will see a large influx of new members over the coming days and weeks. Like me, some of these will want to look deeper into what's available and have a play. Of those who stick around, some will start building tools that help the ecosystem and add real value. In this way, the price acts as the strongest marketing tool and develops real value in the ecosystem.

The steemforthe.win tool appears to be broken. Percentages are not populating. Seems like it could be useful when it works.
