This is the third (and last) shout out for the last part of the interview I had with @badastroza. This part deals with a few more sensitive topics, like:
- to what extent is self-voting ok?
- are the minnow booster bots useful?
- who is the Mark Zuckerberg of Steemit? Do we really need one?
- how to deal with spammers (hint: it's all about ignoring them)
- Steemit is really free for everyone but that doesn't mean is also fair (as inequalities are inherent in life)
And many more.
Have a look at the entire interview here:
Interesting People #23: Dragos Roua on Steemit’s problems, and what we should do about them
Many thanks again to @badastroza for this chat, I had a very good time. :)
I'm a serial entrepreneur, blogger and ultrarunner. You can find me mainly on my blog at Dragos Roua where I write about productivity, business, relationships and running. Here on Steemit you may stay updated by following me @dragosroua.

If you're new to Steemit, you may find these articles relevant (that's also part of my witness activity to support new members of the platform):
thanks alot for sharing, it is the first thing I gonna read when i come home from work ;)
Interesting interview. Steemit just opens so many possibilities and they are all being played with.
Very good initiative. Onto the last point, I think, unless the login issue is fixed, people don't feel like its really free. If it takes 2-20 days to get approval, that too after following up in help in chat, people will be bored to do so.
Agree that this absolutely needs to be addressed before a critical network effect can happen.
Great .thanks for sharing.
You are right enough problems, take only some spammers and how they interfere!
@dragosroua,
That would be a very useful information! Thank you very much for sharing with us! Really appreciate your effort!
Cheers~
Epic stuff from someone very invested - and not just financially - in the platform. Cheers for this, @dragosroua... really enjoyed putting this series together.
@dragosroua - Sire, it's an interesting interview & a very valuable link. Love your work Sire. Therefore, I wish to ReSteem your post Sire.

'UpVote ReSteem Comment'
Very interesting. I'm new to Steemit. Upvote and follow.
This is my take on the topic. I'll try to see your interview later.
I don't know, I upvote all my posts but try to not vote my comments, especially on other people's posts.
I don't have anything against self-voters. I just want them to self-vote things that worth upvoting... not spam comments and posts.
I think they are, especially when someone IS new. but I think all of those should be used after the first day of posting.
One of the devs? I don't think there's one. and any decentralized platform don't need one.
yeah, exactly... ignore them. When I see a spammer for the first time I try to tell them what they are doing wrong but I don't advise anyone else to do that. they feed on people anger on them.
yeah... but all of the internet is like that... you can't make everything fair for everyone.. you can make it better but it won't ever be suited to everyone.
I think of steemit as having a blog from scratch... it's better than having that blog if you're not famous enough.
What is minnow boosters sorry i am pretty new in here :D
Great interview, I enjoyed what you said and left some comments there. Peace
Thanks for pointing this out. Maybe we have the same scars from the past, but I couldn't put it better in words.
I think that self-voting should have a cap. I don't necessarily think that self-voting is bad since I agree with what you said. It is like you have a share in a company and you are getting some sort of return on investment but I think it is wrong if you only self-upvote yourself. That is why I think there should be a certain percentage of upvoting you can reach ie 10% so you still have the space to upvote yourself but also with the other 90% you can go out and upvote others helping the community.
I don't know how practical this would be but it is just an idea @dragosroua
loved that great discussion
