hello @goldendawne long time no "speak"
a really cool post you have there and I just had to comment...
What pulls me into a post is kind of a combo of everything you wrote except the whale thing, I have gotten over that. I will read it because I am intrigued and not because its a whale.
Then I upvote articles because I think they deserve an upvote even though now my max upvote has shot up in value a lot (might be 0,4 at 100%) so I do tend to use the sliding bar
I do not resteem mostly, I feel it clutters other peoples feed a bit so I avoid it
commenting I really like to do, and on all kinds of articles but I will rarely post some really short comments like "nice post" I will comment if i feel I will add something to a discussion (again mostly)
and I will upvote any decent comments made on my posts
HOWDY stranger!!!
This is a VERY valid point you have made; which is why I wish steemit devs would get a new system for us to categorize our feeds, posts and resteems. It would look less cluttered and I feel in the long run, more organized for when we try to search for an older post.
I also, UPvote decent comments within my, or others', posts when applicable.
I am doing some mentoring with newer steemians and thought I would share this (things I do personally) with all my followers.
Both of you are correct on this point. I do resteem, occasionally, but not as much as @goldendawne. A big reason for it is exactly what @felander said. The past several days, I have been unable to pay much attention to my feed because there is one person (whom I follow and like very much) that is trying to help a contest by resteeming everyones post for it. That is great and I applaud them for helping so many people. But I have been unable to find the posts of all my favorite people because my whole feed is nothing but these resteems, lol.
With that said, I do occasionally resteem, especially if it is a topic that I think helps a lot of people, like this post of @goldendawne. I am resteeming it, asap.
This is a perfect example of why the steemit developers need to take into consideration for a new updated format for organization.
I mean, I have my email set up that as soon as I reply to an email or need to save an email, it goes into its assigned folder. If we could have a way to NOT let resteems effect other people's feed, etc it would be a STUPENDOUS accomplishment on the developers behalf.
Reply, should be like a conversation between 2, people,
When you respond to a "good post", it's as if you just said - Hello
you didn't start a conversation really.
I call those nice post comments a drive-by.
