I´m upvoting this post, since such a button will probably be essential to pave the way towards mass adoption. Currently however, there seems to be clear incentivation (=whale upvotes) for posting original content. Personally, original content is what I´m preferring and upvoting, too. However, mid to long term Steemit needs to appeal the masses as the platform cannot exist for only a niche population of writers and creatives. With the such a 'share on Steemit' button we would start to see tons of link-posting, but this is actually needed, I guess, to get the ~90% of internet users on board who rather like to share than to create.
I'm posting OC.
Attached to my posts are pictures. (Also my OC)
I upload the pictures to imgsafe.org and then I share them on STEEMIT.
I only thought of the share button for pictures and memes and such.
After reading your comment:
It would be nice to be able to 'reSteem' somebody, too - like a retweet.
I wouldn't know how the rewards could work for that.
It's a bit like curation ?
I didn't go through the Whitepaper.
This post wasn't meant as a proposal but really just as a question.
I know you post OC, it's just that a large proportion of the millions that need to onboard to make steemit viable will need to have the possibly for easy link posting.
If you go into the replies section of your account, you can collect the url of each comment that you got and share it with others. I guess similar to a retweet.

Why I thought of it was because I struggle to find out which pictures I'm allowed to share and which ones not.
If the owner of the original pictures offered a 'share on steemit' button with proper source references and all - that would be nice.

I know how to share a link, thanks :P
That is not what a retweet is like.
The votes could be directly redirected and the 'Secret Writer Challenge' would just be a 'retweet'
Upvoted, would be great for this to be a ubiquitous button across the net.
Most sites will use the Sharing Buttons from AddThis [https://www.addthis.com/get/share]. But I don't think they've added Steemit yet.
Maybe someone should tell them :)
Right! It would be most proper for @dan or @ned! Haha
If you upvote, they might get to see this.
