Bots will maybe kill Steemit! STAHHP!

in #steemit6 years ago

So I've been already some time on Steemit, but there's this one thing in here which keeps annoying me as hell.

Whenever I look at a post I immediately have to switch over to the user to see, if it's a bot account. This is so annoying and there are so many bots out there. Also I find the whole Steemvoter thing is highly annoying. If this keeps on happening, one day we will have lost all power to the Bots, as they vote each other up for generic shitposts.
They even might take over the platform, if we let them get away with this!
If these Botfarms reach a point, where they have so much Steem Power from upvoting each other and are so numerous, that the community is too small to flag them all. As a result all tags will be spammed to uselessness by the bots and the communtiy will die out.

We need somehow be able to protect us from this. Does the flag do its job?
What do you think? Is this a likely scenario, or an annoying sideeffect we have to simply accept?
