I like the new slogan.
However, there's an opportunity to use the topic of the week or month to attract more interest.
For example, if people come to the site they could see
#pizzagate exposed.
That will pull more in.

And then you can change whatever the topic of the moment is whenever you need. It's guerilla marketing.
Everyone thinks Voat - Pizzagate but Steemit has great info too.
Thanks we could certainly try a slogan and try topic based campaigns too. We don't have to stop after doing it once and some experimentation will be necessary to find what works best. I would suggest not using the "pizzagate" thing because we don't want that association to be in people's minds when they think of Steemit. I think maybe something more positive might be better. What do you think?
I suggest you google "social salience". I spent most of my career in the ad industry but it will take too long to explain. Have fun
Social salience - will do:)
Do you have any suggestions for a good book on marketing and possibly marketing psychology?
I mentioned this in a reddit thread the other day, wait til people realize voat = reddit.
Interesting idea. That's not a slogan though and is likely to put just as many people off as are interested - no matter which subject you choose. A slogan just says enough to raise attention and generate curiosity. There is no reason we can't try both at different times.
