Another reason we're building a "Skoolie" - "Hippy Bus"!!!

Our Bus

The most compelling reason that my Wife, Michele and I are obsessively working towards building out... And retiring on the "Road"... In a "Hippie Bus" (We'll do our best to make it more RVish and less "Hippy".) is that there are people "Out there" who truly need help!!! There are "Venues" like "Jamie's Van Build", the RTR, and other places, where we can find people who are suffering, and use our skills to make tremendous changes in someone's life!!!

What better goal can you have for your life and existence than to make a huge difference (For the better) in someone's life??

Another BIG reason however, is that We'd like to make less of an "Impact"......... The whole "Going Green" - "Tread Lightly" thing (OK maybe a little hippy-ish.)

You see this is simply "Tiny House Living" on wheels!!! Our School Bus is about 230 square feet! Pretty damned small!!!
When you live "Tiny" you're forced to be less of a consumer... It's about minimalism. We'll have to get rid of around 90% of our possessions in order to squeeze ourselves into this sardine can. Sure there's Diesel that will go into the fuel tank, and Propane will run the hot water heater, but our goal is to be able to "Disbursed Camp" for as much as 2 weeks at a time, all on our own. No services, "Off Grid".

We'll Probably have 1/10th the "Footprint" of an average American!!!

We can do this WITHOUT sacrificing our lifestyle!!! We'll provide over 90% of our electricity with Solar Power, We'll use a tenth (Probably less) of the fresh water of the average American.

This forced minimalism of this lifestyle also reduces what's called "Embodied Energy"... The next time you put that "Whatever" into your shopping cart, consider how much oil it took to ship your new prize from China to your Local WalMart!

It takes FAR less energy to heat, and cool a smaller (well insulated) space than all that unused square footage in a typical American home. Staying two weeks in one spot, then traveling a short distance to the next place to "Camp" means we'll actually drive less than the typical Urban Commuter!!! That means we might even use less fuel!

When things like Gasoline, Diesel, Propane, and electricity become prohibitively expensive (And they WILL,) We'll be using far less, or creating our own, and able to live comfortably despite the run away inflation that's affecting most people.

Did you know that on average - Electricity has gone up in price in the US, by 66% since the year 2,000???

We won't be putting but a fraction of the used plastic packaging into the Environment, We'll be using far less Water, dumping FAR less sewage (Thanks to a Composting Toilet, and Grey Water recycling,) creating out own Electricity, and we won't be subject to draconian laws that make an "Off grid" lifestyle into a criminal offense.

Oh yeah.... We'll get to travel, and see cool places too!!!
