RE: About Author Etiquette and Forced Votes

Those of us who don't have much SP simply can't upvote very many comments. If there's a convention that folks need to be doing that, the new folks simply can't follow it. A real reply and continued engagement seems better from a community-building standpoint. But it would be nice to acknowledge seeing a comment, so someone doesn't think they are just being ignored at the tail end of a conversation.

You can upvote 48 post in 24 hours. So yeah, if your post gets hundreds of comments, it's just impossible to upvote the lot of them. A reply is a much nicer way of showing appreciation.

When I started here, I would get error messages saying I didn't have enough Steem Power or Steem (I can't remember which) to make any more upvotes. I would have to go off and comment on several posts and wait until I got more oomph, after even 1 upvote. Thanks for the tip about how many posts I can upvote every 24 hours -- I'll try to reach that and see what happens now that I have been here a whole 4 days, LOL!
