I did a simple presentation to show people how Steemit works from a user perspective. Some started browsing Steemit on their laptops or smartphones. The discussion was very lively and many questions were asked. One person actually signed up to Steemit and Busy during the presentation and sent me messages over busy. Another person later sent me a message telling me that she had signed up to Steemit and bought some Steem and Steem Dollars.

I always love it when Steemit users go to Crypto meetups and spread the word. :D
The last point of critique is the most valid one for me. It's so difficult to see the really good posts even if they are heavily rewarded. And everything thats older than one day is even harder to find. ;)
True, I'm shure they are working on it though. I wonder whether it is more difficult to build content categories with content that is stored on the blockchain or if it is just not a priority yet.
