Let me begin with an example of my business.

You heard that it is a social network that pays; Awesome! Maybe a friend told you about this beautiful community, you come to the homepage and see some massive amounts on the trending list under the posts, and your dreams are flying. You are so euphoric, full of energy and after joining you begin to write hastily.
But the results are not like expected. You are trying it few times, and you see it's not working like for other users. This is the first mistake.
Maybe you think these users are just like you; perhaps you imagine they joined just a few days earlier and are already successful, but in your case, it's not working. This is fully misleaded. These are people who are long on this site and already invest a lot of their brainpower and maybe also their sweat.
For whom do i write that?
I am writing this for people who want to take it seriously. I think most of the people who join this community have a serious goal, but we all need to put them into the right light. If you want to use it just for fun than this post is not for you.
This Post is for people who want to become really big on the site. To reach that goal you need to know how you need to play this game! Without knowing the rules, it is impossible to play the game. And don't think that the current whales are special or in every area better than you. Most of them are not aware that they are playing right. They are doing it instinctively good, some of them know how it works.
In this part, we are talking about the very basics. It often sounds so easy, but if you don't master these basics, it will be difficult. Everything starts with the basics. When you start building a house, you start from the ground not from the top.

The first thing you need to know or you will learn fast anyway. Steemit is not a fast making cash machine! If you thought Steemit is something like that: Go in fast go out quick you have come to the wrong place. Most of you learn this lesson immediately.

Most of you will agree when I tell you that on Steemit the main action is to blog right? You make a Post, and other users can like your post (Facebook) here it calls upvote and according to their Steempower and the percentage they use for their vote they give your contribution a financial value. So you may recognize that you will also be rewarded for upvoting other users Content, called curating.
So those two actions; Writing and Curating are the actions which let you earn Money. Or better to say SteemDollar or Steempower. We will talk about this later. After answering this question, you need to respond to the following one.
What 'ELSE' can I do on this platform?
And this is the question where the game start.
Every Athlete before he enters a competition he has a time of preparation. I don't tell that you have to make such a preparation, no, for you, this preparation is to get to know this platform in his roots. If you think it will be too technical I can say to you it will not.
You know that Steemit is a social Community. The word social is important. How can you be social on this site? By interacting with others. Which action is meant? Reading, Following, Commenting, Resteeming.

These are your basic actions on this site.
Let me tell you; many people don't master these basics. You can make so much wrong by doing one of these or in the worst case in all of them. These actions are your foundation. For some, they look too easy, and they focus more on special effects. What kind of tool can I use to boost my account? How can I get quick many followers etc.? Tools are also necessary we will discuss this in another part. But I will tell you, you can use so many special effects but they will go to fade if you not master and build your foundation correctly.
Maybe you are not the typical writer; then I tell you to FIND A SOLUTION! If you think you are standing before a closed door, go and find a matching key.
Go out and observe already successful Steemians. How are they writing, what and how are they doing it, can you adopt something for you and implement it into your own style. There are always solutions you just need to go out and find them. But here is the problem. It takes effort and time.

This is not a step-buy step how-to guide. Maybe you thought that. I will show you a mentality you will need to be successful. Don't get me wrong. You will not only be successful you will be substantial for other users here. At the end, it's a win-win situation.

What do I mean by that?
A fast Learning eye is a mentality to figure out how certain activities are working the best for you. Not everything works for everyone in the same way. It can't be because we are all different and our skills are in different areas. You need to test, to try something out, to take a risk, to learn the best way for you here. And this starts with the main basics with your foundation.
1.) Writing: Write about that what you are good at for what you have a passion.
2.) Upvote: Upvote posts you really like and comments you appreciate.
3.) Reading: Read Post you are interested in. It doesn't matter if it is a small category.
4.) Follow: Follow those People from which you like the content (about following also more in another post)
5.) Comment: Make Comments which helps the author and other readers.
6.) Resteem: Resteem the content you really enjoyed and you think could be helpful, entertaining or whatever for your followers.
Master these basics for you. Keep in mind that all actions should spread value for others. Don't make actions just for the sake of making activities. These Points may look easy, but honestly, it takes a lot of effort to do all.

Its definitely not a quick scheme. Steemit is a bonifide platform that is growing at a good pace. If one doesnt give up after the first few days and puts in time and effort they can easily grow into and with the community.
This would make a good series.
