The importance of learning English

in #steemit7 years ago (edited)

There are many people who want to leave their native country in search of work, probably because the language is usually a barrier because we are accustomed to neglect it because we do not give it the importance it deserves.
As it is my case at my age 21 years, I am now ready to study the language that offers so many advantages.

Why does this happen?

In my country Spain usually happens mainly to the shame that gives us speaking in public since we think they can laugh at us, which makes us not practice it more and more.

How to solve it?

Sincerely I have thought several times since I need to remedy the ignorance of the language as soon as possible, so after having several options the most clear although something expensive is the ability to travel to a country whose main language is English, having to learn it by force

The English opens many doors and gives you a great advantage over the rest of your opponents in a world of work, so I encourage everyone to know it and to learn it.

I hope I have not made many mistakes.

Indeed! It's a global language - a method to communicate with everyone despite their geolocation.

I very much agree, thank you very much for your answer

Thank you for your viewpoint. It's funny how we forget to appreciate the qualities we do have, over those we don't.

When in fact for others, what you do take for granted, such as our native language, can be one of their biggest challenges. It would do us all good to be more understanding and generious with others struggles, myself included. Thank you.

Thanks to you for the answer and your point of view on the subject.

Hi. It is the same in Colombia. We know wee need to learn, we wanted it , but we always left the topic for other opportunities. Traditional ways to learn english like institutes or to travel are so expensive that for many of us are only a dream. But the good new is you use a lot of other resources in internet, more or them free and more funny. There are a lot of free courses in coursera ( at least , you can audit them ), bbc, edx and others.

I agree.
