The end of central banking and government assumes that government will not preemptively strike at something that threatens it's power. It is slightly naive to assume that people who dedicated their lives to acquiring power will easily give it up. Now can things change in 100 years? Maybe, but not in our foreseeable future. That is not to say it is not worth working towards the right thing, if you believe it being the right thing, even if you won't get to see it.
While there is great potential in block-chains and cryptocurrencies for a lot of things, I just cannot see them as some sort of panacea for getting rid of government. The moment they mainstream, regulation will start flowing for such a "dangerous" thing. I mean, won't someone think of the children?
