I may be wrong, but you'll see some of them in Korean posts into which I think our fellows may not understand the content, but seeing the number of texts used, there are even posts with no pictures and has around 50-100 texts on it. Those were some harmonical distortions of this platform.

Nope what i mean is this. You are a leader now and you have impact and especially for topics like this which infact is very subjective, audience matters and most of the audience for topics like this are newbies.
Community building removes personal sentiments cos again, you audience matters especially for topics like this. No one has failed. Not one. And having 300 million sbd may not be success either, if you ask some of the whales, they will tell you. Now not everyone is on steemit looking for SBDs. Many are here solely cos of decentralization and some to maintain privacy. i am here for steemit but i am also here for the steem blockchain which is something very different. I tried to explain context to you. I am not talking of the word "shitty" in particular, i am talking of the general tone of the post. Growth as well, is many things to different people. There are users here who came to write a book about their deceased parent because their parent's demise was caused by political triggers and all secular outlets or media have tried to hide the truth and that's why they are here. to post and keep it stored unerasable and permanent, and doing just that is growth for them and there are minnows who can be whales tomorrow, cos they are minnows here but have 33 bitcoin somewhere. Some are just here to watch and see if it is worth it to bring in their bitcoin and be whale tomorrow and some are actually whales in there main account and want to appear minnows so they can be treated as regular people. You are still young in your journey to pick up on all these things and this info you may not hear anywhere but you need this info to grasp things more fully and that is why i am telling you cos i see you as leader now. this is not direct info, it is just general conceptual info to help open your mind and eyes to things. Korea or cn is a different topic. There are various incentives at play there. e.g if china is censored and i am whale there, i would give away votes to encourage growth. Among other things, steemit is a beta, so there technical reasons for why posts trend beyond content. the amount of posts that trend is also a way to appeal to people who visit steemit cos at this stage steemit is still in its beta stage. Community building is also not aimed at steemit growth, so curation at this point may not only favor content, it could also favor encouragement so that one feels encouraged enough to bring his brother. so i may vote on a single picture cos i look at so many other factors beyond just content. i look at this profile too. how about if he has 500k followers on his facebook page and he is new and he keeps posting one picture cos he doesnt know how steemit works yet, wont i vote him, yes i would becuae apart from steemit there is steem which allows creations of apps and if he has a 500k people who simple want to post pictures, why not, there is steepshot or zappl all on the blockchain. meme contest by fibra59 is trending always. ned had participation for it and entries are just one image they trend still for varying reasons, one being steemit growth. I gave you a tone of info only cos i am brother to you and only brother will give you this much. I care though and delay giving out info not cos it is secret but cos if the other party is not ready, it could be understand and i care about people enough not to want to hurt them cos they misunderstood my words.

Speaking for myself, I could earn a whole lot more off of Steemit, than tying up $40,000 on my accounts here. I appreciate steemit, and became a witness because I was part of a group on Facebook that got censored due to having an unpopular conservative opinion during the past US election.
I lease a 64gb server, and pay someone to keep it up to date for me because I want to do a small part in securing an uncensored platform... I will only make $30-40 a month as a witness, and I'm ok with that.
A lot of people think witnesses are rich...only the top 20 make enough to probably quit their day jobs.
As @surpassinggoogle stated in passing, no one here needs a reason for upvoting an image as simple as a tomato, using bots, or upvoting their own comments. Although these actions may be taboo...it's the beauty of what makes our experiences unique. We can steem however we want :)
