It is probable that some whales removed their upvote straight before the payout. It is up to them to do anything though, so there is no point complaining.

This did not happen. No record of unvote or downvote at all for this thread.
Also, 1 whale removing an upvote would not cause that big of a drop, leaving me with only 15% of what was shown. And if multiple whales removed their upvote, it would have to have been perfectly synchronized to happen at the exact moment the system paid out.
This could have very well happened... There is no other explanation.
I don't believe in approaching possible tech issues in absolutes. There can ALWAYS be another explanation until finally ruled out.
Also, there would be record of removal of votes, or application of downvotes in steemd.com.
No such record exists for that thread.
Searching up the names that have upvoted your post, no notable whales apart from smooth upvoted your post. Do you recall any whales that had upvoted on your post?
Which meant that one way or another, some whales have unvoted.
Again, this would be recorded in https://steemd.com/@winstonwolfe
All activity is recorded there. Everything. It can't be removed because it's part of the blockchain. It's permanent.
If an upvote, downvote, or un-vote occurs, it'll be there.
There are none for that thread.
Almost right on cue with @berniesanders
HERE is what it looks like when you get an upvote and/or a downvote from anyone. Just so happens this one was a whale, and it happened nearly at the time I made my last reply to you, incidentally enough.
If it's correct, so be it. I'll accept it as I mentioned, so please don't peg me as complaining.
My concern is that it doesn't happen to YOU.
