Steemit - the honey badger of content

in #steemit8 years ago

Now that price of Steem has gone up a lot, and Steemit is getting some media attention, it might very well be that Steemit start to suck in more quality content producers (writers, bloggers, vloggers, etc.). It makes sense to use this platform, because you get encouraged to write quality posts etc. You are not just making money for the traditional platform (add-revenue etc.).
I have been interested in Bitcoin since 2011. I'm normally against "app-coins". Normally it makes more sense to just use bitcoin, but I'm wondering if Steemit is a special case. Here you "mine" Steems by producing quality content. That makes sense. I predict this price rise was just a beginning - really. This could become something big.
The only question is: why would anyone buy Steem? Speculation of course is the main driver but what is the incentive to use Steems?

Congrats to Steemit-team and community. We might be in a verge of potential mind-blowing success!

I also wonder why an outsider that has no plans on using the Steemit platform would want to buy an inflationary currency. Either they are a speculator or they feel Steemit is so great that people who use it will want to keep buying Steem so they can be super voters/content producers. My bet is there is a lot of speculation going on right now (hey it is good for Bitcoin either way so I am not complaining!). I agree with you strongly that Steemit may be a game changer in the social media and crypto world. I recently wrote about that here: https://steemit.com/steemit/@bitcoinmeister/is-steem-the-non-technical-ethereum-rival-of-bitcoin-will-steemit-be-the-spark-that-starts-the-rush-of-regular-people-into-the

Some may want to buy steem so they can 'power up' and have a bit more weight on the platform. Some may buy because it is a new currency and want to take a chance at getting it before it blows up even bigger. Seems to me there are plenty of good reasons to buy steem.

Yep, valid points.
Posts are getting better and better. Steemit might have the critical mass soon.

Also, there is even more potential for writers to earn, if there will be adds on the platform. Perhaps, those revenues could go to content creators.

I upvoted you.

the honey badger of content - excellent line BTW - I wish I had thought of that!
