I have seen a lot of generic posts about Steemit these days. I didn't want to write one, but as we are community and we respect opinions of each other, i want to use my chance to share my thoughts with you.
I haven't been surprised by the success of 30k makeup tutorial. You see, if we put an attractive girl in the promotional material that is connected with the platform we want to promote, this act will be successful. That's the strategy that works nearly for 40 years. Beautiful looking people are more suitable for these goals and i don't blame anyone. It's okay.
You have seen those makeup parodies, that have been done by two males. Just try to think about that. Two males decided to do that thing, understanding that they will definitely earn a buck by such silly posts. Again, i don't blame anyone, as i'm not better. I've upvoted these posts, understanding that they will skyrocket. I've given my vote for them, i've supported them, driven by profits.
This situation made me think of how people will use Steemit. You see, in ordinary social media something like that wouldn't be monetized (at least instantly). But when people understand that by exposing themselves in a clown manner they may earn 2 or 10k Steemit USD, they of course will try to overcome the success of the people that have done. What are they capable of? Does it mean that most of Steemit trending section will become NSFW?
I ain't got the answers. It's all up to people.
spot on. more people are now trying to make a quick buck, and I guess that they don't mind to expose themselves in such a way. However, for bloggers, it's an awesome way to make an extra money. And I am talking about blogs with at least 10K views. A good strategy to post first on STEEMIT, then use the link and use the article spinning and create another blog post about that on their blogs.
hmm intresting strategy
good points you make about people changing their behavior for profit
Thank you!
This is a interesting social experiment on capitalism. They have created this Gold Rush and people will do whatever it takes to get their cut. Content will suffer, memes and porn will explode.
don't blame it on capitalism and remember that shameclowns existed long before capitalism, but I agree about the experiment
