RE: The Quality of Steemit Posts is Going Downhill & Why It's Bad for Steemit Growth & Adoption

Thanks for the shoutout man!

The 7 day windows makes no sense and isn't working. People put a lot of time into producing content if they are making documentaries and whatnot and a lot of times, something might become really popular weeks or months after it is posted. That's how it is on YouTube. Many of my videos slowly increase in view count and then a few months later it pops off and has thousands of views. Having a 7 day window to upvote is essentially giving the message that the steem blockchain is meant for casual posts that don't require a lot of time and effort.

I would love to see more viewers as opposed to content creators here. Just like you said: everyone is talking at each other instead of with each other.

I would actually love to make a documentary about something in China. It will happen sooner or later as my video editing skills continue to progress. That would be cool to see on DTube.

Yeah something that always fascinates me is Steemit "finding itself" essentially every social platform has a character about it, some unwritten rules and best practices. Steemit is young and finding itself.

I remember in the earlier days people were a lot stricter about borrowing or curating content ie you really had to put a pretty thoughtful blog post into describing an article in order to not get shit for it yet today I see some reallly high up and respected posters basically just dropping links or posting someone esle's article adn saying this article is about Bitcoin as if that is adding some value. I dont really make a judgement either way but just doesn't seem like the rules or best practices are consistantly applied to everyone and seems whats okay and whats not is slowly changing.

I'm seeing a lot of low quality cellphone pictures, nothing wrong with sharing your life or a meal out with friends but when people are just taking a low quality photo that you can tell little to no effort was put into of a tree in their front yard and posting that type of stuff like 8 times a day and doing well doing it its like shit is that what Steemit is really about?

Your so right about the 7 day thing, like you said it encourages people not to put time into stuff. One of my most popular Youtube videos had like 600 views for the longest time, today however that same video has done over 2 million views. Or think about movies like Office Space, total box office flops but years later they become cult classics.
