What causes successful people...to become successful?
This question is debatable.
Some think it's luck, others think it's through hard work.

What I have come to experience over the past couple of years, is that the successful stick with their project after the others have quit.
The only reason that you might not be at the level of success you want right now, is because you stopped doing what it is you set out to accomplish.
Perhaps it was a business venture, a new project, or another opportunity that you started but then didn't see it through to the end.
Bottom line, quit quitting.
Every time you quit on something, you have to then start over only to continue in that constant cycle of starting then stopping.
After a while, you are going to get tired of not seeing results, and then ultimately quit completely.
Instead...pick a project, see it through to completion, continue learning, and become a successful person whom others can look up to.

I would add that you should be passionate about what you do as it will help you maintain your goals in succeeding in whatever venture.
Right on @newageinv . I completely agree with you. Combine passion and persistence together and you have a powerhouse at your fingertips.
Failure is only a failure if you give up afterwards; if you learn from it, adjust your strategy and try again then you will eventually succeeded, at least that is what I found from my own life so far.
I feel you @malcolmmerlyn . When you stop trying, that is when real failure sets in. Success is found in moving forward despite all obstacles.
