Since Steemit made platform where one can earn money for getting votes on their posts there are a few who went into such niche.
Some of those are direct copies/forks and some are doing stuff their way. Trybe that we speak of here is doing stuff unique and is not a direct competitor technology wise.
They use tokens on EOS network and you earn them for voting and writing but the website is centralized (at least for now) content is on their website. Just the tokens are on blockchain.
This is why they lost a bit of content possibly, not sure how balances of users were stored though - will they clear for that day ? We will see,.

Always interesting to see stuff like this. Ultimately it seems like we are working on finding a way to make websites decentralized, but it's hard to get and send traffic to a random network of computers -- so centralization like we have. Maybe in the future they'll find a way to hit a website without having DNS specify it to one address, but rather a blockchain network? IDK -- we can dream :)
yes DNS is the next thing that should be fixed ;)
It just seems the further along crypto gets, someone always is trying to be one step ahead. I have followed a man called Ivan on tech, and he tells everyone that Crypto NEVER sleeps. Hackers will always be ready to take a loop hole and exploit it... (:

Hi @kingscrown, whenever a unique concept is placed in the world, then many copies of that concept are followed. So most of the time pioneer stays while other copiers did not stay. Only those copier stay which adds something unique to their concept. What do you think.

I think trybe has potential, they already have systems in place to combat circle jerk voting, the worst part about steem
