Although it breaks the normal convention, we have to understand that at it's core, Steemit is a social media. So the conventional methods of creating viral content or content that gets 'clicks' is same.
These are some steps to market Viral Content
1.Create a compelling Headline
As much as creators say that views don't matter, that's just some shit talk.
We create to get the joy out of the feeling that other people read or viewed our content that we took time and effort to create. And the first part of showing people our content is to make a bomb-ass title. I'm not talking about 'clickbaiting'.
It's only a bait if what's inside is not what the title says it is.
Instead you have to find the best way to describe your content, to make it stand out among the 10's of threads that are shown beside it.
2.Make your content interactive
If you are sure about your content and it's ability to garnish viewers, then try to make the content more interactive. Ask your viewers questions and to answer them in the comments. Try to create a community among your viewers which can improve on your follower count too.
3.Use appropriate number of images
I've seen posts with a single image at the beginning and then about 5-6 pages of content in text. Although your content might be fire, your viewers won't find it to be pleasing to read. I would suggest a 3 page-1 image ratio.
4.Don't make your audience feel foolish
No one likes to be fooled. Your content shouldn't make anybody feel fooled.
This was a major reason I was hesitant to create this post. Most people might know almost everything in this post and they might feel fooled for clicking on such a post. But I just wanted to share my thought on the topic and make a post.
