Lost in the Steem...

Steem is an entertainingly strange place to blog. Possibly the ideas being floated here is shaping the future.

Sometimes I feel somewhat lost in the steem drifting around the murk checking out random posts many of which seem to fall into the 'Girls Travelling in Paradise' or 'Rants About Steem' categories. And although there are these posts SteemIt is providing an interesting outlet for people to discuss ideas that will help form the future. One thing is definitely apparent and that is we are still at the beginning of the blockchain revolution.

What seemed to many as a joke back when Bitcoin started has definitely hit primetime. Governments have started to look at how blockchain technologies can improve the way we the people are served. Banks and accountancy firms are investigating how they can leverage the technology. VISA is currently running a trial in Europe. All these efforts though do not diminish the fact that this very much started as a peoples movement and very much needs to continue this way. People need to shape their futures and not leave it to shortsighted national governments or profit motivated big business.

SteemIt is great. Ethereum is interesting. Bitcoin continues apace. There are dozens of innovative projects out there that if successful could truly shape the future of the internet, how we work and how we are governed. We need to embrace them promote them or maybe stretch out and develop our own ideas. These are interesting times indeed.
