Using these bots, in my opinion, is a waste of resources. But everything will depend on the type of publication. When it comes to contests it is beneficial because the main trends are reviewed by the other contestants and this can give more votes and also gain some followers. On the other hand, when it comes to own publications with original content that are directed to a general public, it does not bring any benefit, since in these cases there are other types of strategies such as a good offer in the Title and a striking image.
Another negative point for these bots, is that due to the number of inorganic votes they provide with respect to the reward of the publication, the chances that you can get cures from some important communities or whales decrease, this is because these entities not is convenient to distribute Steem Power among a number of bots.
In conclusion, being among the first positions of tendency of a label is only a visual satisfaction, because as a reward it does not deliver anything. It is preferable, once you have received the amount of organic votes possible to invest in some bots to enhance the publication.
There are two bot that I used a while ago @smartmarket and @smartsteem.

My personal expecience with using resteeming bots is a so far quite positive. Definetly results are better comparing results received from upvoting post into trending page.
Whenever I would spent 15-20 SBD on resteeming bots I would get 5-10 valuable new contacts (comments from people I didnt know who are blogging about crypto). So I would say that it was worth it so far. But it really depends on resources and expectations.
But who knows. Maybe soon I will also change my mind. Perhaps Im just to over optimistic :) Thx again for sharing your view. I appreciate it a lot! :)
