Features
Steemit has three major currencies which include: steem, steem power (SP) and steem backed dollars (SBD).
Steem is available for purchase in an exchange and can be converted into steem dollars or steem power why is this possible is because steem is liquid. steem power is usually called system which is locked in a vesting fund for three months. Users can use Steem's power to increase content and get rewards. When a user upvotes its content, its power becomes exhausted and slowly regenerated. Steem Power holders receive interest from their holding. The more Steem Power, a voter, has, the higher the income he generates for himself (in the form of SP), and the creator of content (In SBD) will be high. There is also an incentive to upvote content early because rewards are distributed according to time. The first votes receive the largest share of the award.
Steem Backed Dollars is here to protect the content creators against volatility and can be exchanged for about 1 USD of them, to cash out in them. The conversion of the dollars supported by Steem into STEEM takes five days. Users are also interested in holding SBD.
