This Week's 5 Most Undervalued Posts - Aug 27 2016

in #steemit8 years ago

Hi Steemians,

I’ve written a script to search for undervalued posts - those popular among minnows, upvoted by many, but failing to earn money they deserve. The script calculates each post's rating using this simple formula:

[#votes]2 / max(payout, $1)

so it favors posts with huge amount of upvotes that have received little pay. Now I'm compiling this list of 5 top-rated posts to provide you with some good read for the weekend, and hopefully also give them a second chance.

So here are this week’s 5 most undervalued posts:

Re-Entering the "Matrix” by @maceytomlin describes her deliberate return to working 9-to-5 and lessons she has learned from it.

A Drawing of the Syrian boy Omran Daqneesh that had been bombed by @mohamedmashaal was inspired by a news report of a boy whose brother died in bombings. Deeply moving.

@steemswede in [SELF-HONESTY] Do You Judge Rich and Successful People? writes about his switch from Marxist to libertarian thinking towards wealth and entrepreneurship.

What’s Wrong with Russian Cinema Industry by @aykes is an insider’s take on why the industry, once thriving, is now struggling. (This post is in Russian).

And for the Whale Pic of the Week, see [CryptoArt] Bringing STEEM Underwater by @steemingnow. 140 votes and $0.76 - is something wrong with Steemit?

This was a really great script to write. Could you do this more often? And title it "Top 5 Posts This Week Based on votes alone". (eliminating those over $1). I think there is a market for this--we all feel like our vote should matter.

Yes, this is a good idea, as all the top posts earn less than $1 anyway =)

I would suggest recommending them to robinhood-links, if they fit their criteria. They'll potentially vote them up.

Nice listing, sometimes we do not realize there are a good article. Many people in steemit only search trending topic which write by whale :)
