I don't like the policy, but it's not really statist because we aren't forced to use steemit. I hear you though.

We arent forced to earn an income in the state either. And you are only taxed if you earn. Incomes under a rather high level generally pay little or nothing in taxes. Its only if you wish to create content over that level that the state taxes you.
