I think follow for follow defeats the purpose of being on the site. Why be here unless you are either posting content or looking for content relevent to you. Gathering a hundred newbies with little interest and no voting power is counterproductive to progressing steemit and the community here.

yea i agree, its taken me a little while to figure out steemit and at first i was follow for following but im realising it really doesnt help anyone
No you need people who will vote and comment. Thats the best way that I have found to really get involved here and meet people with the same mindset.
