How hard is it to build up a steemit profile from scratch?

in #steemit8 years ago

So joining this website I set out with a noble goal of building something up from scratch. I've been having difficulties with my bank and buying Bitcoin to then buy in into steem (which I would include in my asset allocation but use it while holding it).

So I've had some nice early on success with my book reviews and I plan to continue them. I'm grateful for the follows both old and new, you guys are great. But I seem to be hitting a few bumps. I'm now at a point where I feel my rep is high enough to be taken seriously (Idk I could be totally wrong) and I'm thinking about working with my bank to get some buy in with steem to accelerate my growth on this platform.

But the main question I'd like to ask for not only myself, but also for others looking to join and grow on steemit is, just how hard is it to start from scratch? No additional buy in, just what you generate on your content and reinvesting in steem power and post promotions. How long would it take to reach, let's say, 50,000 steem power? Months? Years? Would you have to have nonstop viral hits in order for it to be even a remote possibility? I'm genuinely curious if anyone here has done it before. What has been all your experiences? Thanks! :P

I think it's hard to say because there are so many variables. Your content will play a big factor and then there are so many strategies to choose from.

One thing I'd like to know from more people, do you find curation rewards or author rewards are stronger for newbs? I'm sure even this depends a lot on strategy, but generally speaking?

Well according to my stats I've gotten almost 99.9% of my rewards from authoring. I have been curating as well but I have very little curation rewards. I think it also depends on the number of followers you have. Maybe but not always. I've seen some accounts on steemwhales who have huge curation rewards and almost no flowers. So I think it really depends.

You need a lot of power to get good rewards in curation. Your much better off authoring posts because you will earn at least a few cents just from my votes alone :)

Ayyy thanks dood! :P
