Before the fall in the Garden of Eden, man enjoyed an uninterrupted access to the mind of God, but after the fall, the link between man and his creator got cut off. As a result of this, the natural man (in his Adamic nature) could not experience divine revelation. Apostle Paul explained that, it is impossible for the natural man to receive the things of the Spirit of God, because they are spiritually discerned (Romans 8:5-9). Since the Holy Spirit is the custodian of divine revelation, anyone that is not born of the Spirit cannot experience divine revelation.(1 Corinthians 2:13-14)
God wants to direct the course of our lives; He wants to guide us (into all truth). As many as are humble enough to follow Him, He will lead them to the green pastures. For us to experience the leading of the Holy Spirit, we must be born again, and be in constant fellowship with the Holy Spirit. One of the functions of the Holy Spirit is to reveal the mind of Christ to us. As the mind of Christ is being revealed to us from time to time, His word becomes a lamp unto our feet and light unto our paths.
Jesus revealed to us that no man knows the Son except through the Father; likewise can no man know the Father except the Son reveals Him. It is through the Spirit of Christ that we know the way of God. (Matthew 11:27)
