Steemit registration denied - newbies confused...

in #steemit9 years ago (edited)

New users are faced with a serious problem (bug) when trying to register through Facebook (FB)

After successful authentication with FB, trying log in to account, new users receive the following message:

Username does not exist

If they try register again for the same FB account, an error occurs:

Our records indicate that you already have steem account.

And it shows username that does not exist (according to the previous notification)

This is probably due to proposed changes in security, but it would be good to make an official announcement, because our community receives a lot of reports about this Error.

Check this problem, most likely it is still relevant.

Thank You, best regards, Onotole

My friend have same problem.

Just try using a desktop pc. Works for me after i switch it.

They just used desktop PC

Use a new username? I'm having that problem since afternoon and all i did was switch on my desktop and create under a new username.

And new FB account:?

Nope.. I'm using my usual fb acc. I think they solved the problem for now.

Developers may thus restrain excessive growth.
But let's hope it'll be fixed soon

This is very relevant. I told a friend about steemit and he registered with his facebook account last night and got a very nice username and ran into this problem. He sent an email to the support address. I'm guessing that he won't hear from them in a long time if this is an issue that is happening to everybody that is signing up via facebook.
