You are absolutely right about the development. When I wrote articles that did not really interest me, I felt like I was wasting my time. If maybe I received the votes of the whales and that's great, but not progress. I think you have to create something solid that lasts, and that translates into a committed audience that likes what you write and do, and that comes when you do what you like.
