RE: Steemit Community Challenge - "How can you change someones life for better when they are in need!"

in #steemit9 years ago (edited)

When seeing people asking for money at highway offramps I've thought about asking them to join Steemit and tell stories of their lives. But I'm also cynical because I think a good number of them don't actually need to be standing there, and are taking advantage of people's generosity and compassion. That's not the kind of person I'd want to invite to Steemit.

Just yesterday while seeing an offramp beggar. I thought about printing out some business cards with very brief Steemit.com info on it to give out to people, including people who seemed like they could benefit the most.

yeah, I know the feeling.... not everyone will be into it, but I guess that if only 1 in 10 could take it in maybe that 1 in 10 could make it out and have a "normal" life. Once again, it's not only beggers... you may know someone that does not earn that much but you notice that he/she reads a lot.... maybe that person would like to write? and voilá, a little $ may flow to help out family expenses... ;)
